Agreement to Terms
By downloading or using the PingMeThere mobile application, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you disagree with any part of them, please do not use the application.
1. License and Use
PingMeThere is licensed to you, not sold, for use under these terms.
- Personal use: The app is intended for personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control.
- Restrictions: You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the application.
- Availability: The app is currently distributed for Android through Google Play.
2. Free Version and PRO
PingMeThere is free to download and fully usable without paying. PRO is a one-time purchase, with no subscription and no recurring fee.

Unlocked by PRO
- Up to 10 pins monitored at a time
- All premium alert sounds
- Active days (e.g. only Wed and Thu)
- Active hours (e.g. only after 18:00)
- Early arrival warning (e.g. 2 minutes before you get there)
- Spoken alerts (text-to-speech)
- Repeating alerts
- Vibration on alert
- Custom snooze duration
Why monitoring is capped:the two caps exist for different reasons. One monitored pin is what the free version gives away. That is a product decision, and PRO is what lifts it. The cap of ten on PRO is technical: a phone’s operating system will watch only a limited number of geographic zones for an app at once, and a pin that carries several locations (the kind that arrives through a shared link) spends one of those zones per location. Ten monitored pins is what fits with room to spare, so no alarm is ever quietly left unwatched. In either version you can save as many pins as you like; only the monitored ones count towards the limit, and you can turn any pin off to free the slot.
Features may be added to either tier over time. We will not move a feature that is free today behind PRO for users who already installed the app expecting it.
3. Payments and Refunds
- Processing: All purchases are handled by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details.
- Refunds: Refunds are governed by the Google Play refund policy and are requested through Google, not through us. We will gladly help if something is not working as described.
- Restoring: PRO is tied to your Google account. After reinstalling or changing device, use Restore purchases in the app.
4. Your Data Stays on Your Device
As described in our Privacy Policy, the app stores everything locally.
- Local storage: All pins, notes, and history live in your device’s storage.
- No cloud backup: Because there is no account and no cloud copy of your pins, we cannot recover your data. If you uninstall the app or lose the device, that data is gone permanently.
5. Disclaimer: GPS and Alert Reliability
PingMeThere depends on your device’s hardware and on Android’s location and alarm services.
- Accuracy: Geofence triggers are not pixel-perfect. Accuracy is affected by weather, tall buildings, indoor position, device hardware, and power-saving modes.
- Timing: Android may delay or suppress background work to save battery. Some manufacturers are especially aggressive. Enabling active monitoring, granting the “alarms & reminders” permission, and exempting the app from battery optimisation improve reliability but cannot guarantee it.
- Scheduled pins: A pin restricted to certain days or hours is not tracked closely while its window is shut. At the minute it opens, the app raises an alarm over the lock screen with two choices: start accurate monitoring, or leave the pin off. Until monitoring is running, an alert can arrive late. Android may refuse to start it on its own while the app is closed, which is why the alarm asks.
- Early arrival warnings: Warning you a few minutes before you arrive is an estimate from your current speed and distance. Traffic, a change of route, or a stop will make it early or late.
- Spoken alerts: Text-to-speech uses the speech engine and media volume of your device. If no engine is installed for your language, or the volume is muted, the alert may be silent.
- Not for critical safety: Do not rely on PingMeThere for medical reminders, emergencies, or any situation where a missed or late alert could cause injury, loss, or harm. It is a convenience tool.
6. Limitation of Liability
The application is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from a missed, delayed, or incorrectly triggered alert. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
7. Intellectual Property
The application, including its content, features, mascot (“Ping”), and design, remains the exclusive property of PingMeThere and its developers, protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
